Back on Kubuntu...

Finally! After months of forced to be on XP and a TV for a monitor, I can finally get back to doing some computing.

Around Oct/Nov my experiences with monitors has not gone well. Take the fact that my poor jury-rigged laptop bit the dust after the power supply fire fiasco(I didn't even find out until a bought the replacement power supply!), I was forced to use and old PC box that had windows xp on it(I couldn't change the OS on box just yet, orders). Upside the box had two monitors, downside they were on the brink of destruction, which I would later find out. The first monitor worked for a week. It died so hard, I couldn't even get power switch to kick over. The second one decided to take the long and painful struggle to death. It slowly loss usefulness, first the monitor would only stay on for so long before losing signal from the comp, then the increased blurriness until I was unable to make out any words on the screen. It finally died two weeks after the first. Which forced me to use the TV. Now using the TV is a mixed experience. It pretty much ended my browsing and general usage of the net. I mean really, who wants to try and type and read and surf at that low resolution. But going full screen(35") with my media was awesome. The comp turned into the DVD/Media player and thats what I've been doing all this time. But that has come to an end, thankfully(orders recinded). I snagged another monitor, much newer, and loaded Kubuntu. This is actually all great timing because I really don't want to fight over the TV since a xbox 360 is coming into the home.

Oh and not having a DVD Burner to backup your data = m3g4 sux0r
